เดือนสิงหาคม เป็นเดือนที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์สำหรับความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ เพราะในเดือนนี้ เมื่อปี 2503 หรือเมื่อ 61 ปีที่แล้ว พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร ในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9 ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนสวิตเซอร์แลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการ การเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนดังกล่าวได้ช่วยส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์และสร้างรากฐานความใกล้ชิดระหว่างทั้งสองประเทศมาตลอด 6 ทศวรรษที่ผ่านมา
ในโอกาสที่ปี 2564 เป็นปีแห่งการครบรอบ 90 ปีการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเบิร์นจะพาท่านย้อนรอยการเสด็จพระราชดำเนินการเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ระหว่างวันที่ 29 – 31 สิงหาคม 2503 ดังกล่าว ด้วยการนำท่านไปพบกับประมวลภาพและวิดีโอคลิปประวัติศาสตร์ รวมทั้งบทความที่เล่าถึงรายละเอียดของเหตุการณ์อันสำคัญดังกล่าวตลอดเดือนสิงหาคม 2564

The month of August is an important month in the history of Thailand – Switzerland diplomatic relations. In August 1960, 61 years ago, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great or King Rama IX paid a State Visit to the Swiss Confederation. The Visit laid a strong foundation in the course of the next 6 decades for the close and cordial relations between Thailand and Switzerland.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand – Switzerland diplomatic relations in 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy will take you on a journey back in time throughout the month of August 2021 to recount this historic visit, which took place from 29 – 31 August 1960, with a series of old photographs and videos as well as articles written to highlight the significance of this visit.
We start the series with a video footage from the Swiss Federal Archive, which captured this historic State Visit in 1960.
